LANDCOM, JFCNP ASSISTS THE MOLDOVAN MINISTRY OF DEFENCE TO CERTIFY TROOPS FOR THE KFOR MISSION

CHISINAU, Moldova – NATO deployed to Moldova from March 22-26, 2021 in Chisinau to meet with Moldovan Armed Forces (MDA) in the framework of the Operations Capability Concept Evaluation and Feedback (OCC E&F) program.

MDA has been engaged in the program for several years ago to help prepare MDA soldiers for rotations in the Kosovo Forec as operational partners.

At the time of this visit, MDA had 42 troops deployed in support of NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR), all of whom are poised to be replaced by fresh MDA troops for the rotation.

A team lead by LANDCOM and supported by experts from Joint Force Command Naples (JFCNP) met MDA armed forces representatives to run through the agenda of a classical Advisory visit for two of their companies from the 22nd Peacekeeping battalion, A Company 1st Company, and another Mortar Infantry Company.

The two companies, who were certified three years ago, and the Moroccan Ministry of Defence has requested to maintain the units in the program. They will be evaluated again in June, 2021.
