LANDCOM MILCOOP Meets with fellow allies and partners to discuss interoperability and capability

Chisinau, Moldova (October 4, 2019). A LANDCOM delegation under the lead of G9 MILCOOP branch head Norweigan Army Lt. Col. Tore Bade, has participated in NATOs annual Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) conference, hosted this year in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, October 2-4.

The conference is the biggest event in the Operational Capability Concept Evaluation & Feedback Programme community.

The OCC programme, often called the flagship partnership programme, is focused on interoperability and capabilities, a very high priority of Supreme Allied Command Europe (SACEUR) U.S. Air Force Gen. Tod Wolters as it offers significant operational advantages, both to NATO and to the OCC Partner members. LANDCOM is responsible for executing all OCC activities in the land domain and, as such, has the highest number of OCC activities in NATO.

The importance of the conference was reflected in the participation of 29 officers from the NATO Command Structure (NCS) and 35 officers from 15 Partner countries participating in the OCC programme. Three additional Partner countries - Colombia, Morocco and Israel - are also participating as with a combined total of four observers. The conference is chaired by SHAPE, and includes representatives from NATO headquarters, Joint Forces Command Brunssum, Joint Forces Command Naples, LANDCOM, MARCOM, AIRCOM and NATO Special Operations Headquarters. The goal of the conference is to update the NATO OCC community on the latest developments within the OCC community, but most importantly to plan and coordinate the OCC activities  for 2020. The conference includes bilateral meetings and discussions with all of the individual OCC Partner members.
