LANDCOM Commander and csel attend turkish victory day

IZMIR, Turkey (August 30, 2019). U.S. Army Lt. Gen. J.T. Thomson and Canadian Army Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Mathers, the command team for Allied Land Command, attended a Victory Day ceremony held on the Izmir waterfront today. The Turkish national holiday, also known as Armed Forces Day, is celebrated annually on August 30 in commemoration of the Turkish victory in the 1922 Battle of Dumlupınar in the Turkish War of Independence.
