Training, readiness lead discussions during visit to Romania
BUCHAREST – The acting commander for Allied Land Command (LANDCOM), Lieutenant General Paolo Ruggiero, visited the headquarters of Multinational Division Southeast (MND-SE) and the Romanian Chief of Defence April 28 to promote LANDCOM’s support and mentoring of MND-Se in the land domain.
The commander of MND-Se, Brigadier Genereal Ovidiu Liviu Uifaleanu, and the chief of staff, Brigadier General Gheorghe Visan discussed the status of the division’s development toward operational capability. Other representatives of LANDCOM discussed the tailored combat readiness evaluation (CREVAL) process, which will be used to validate the division as combat ready in the future.
Lieutenant General Ruggiero ended his visit with a discussion with Romania’s Chief of Defense, General Nicolae Lonel Ciuca, regarding regional security concerns and MND-SE’s interaction with LANDCOM.
Ruggiero finally expressed his gratitude for MND-SE’s willingness to provide a response cell in Exercise Trident Javelin 2017; additionally, he offered the division leadership to join the periodic video teleconferences hosted by LANDOCM.
