Allied Land Command Welcomes Its New Chief Of Staff

Izmir, Turkey. 8 Aug. 2016 – Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) welcomes its new Chief of Staff Major General Erhan Uzun (Turkish Army).

At his arrival at the Headquarters, Major General Uzun was greeted by Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Brigadier General Janos Somogyi (Hungarian Army).

He will be responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising the LANDCOM Staff activities on behalf of the Commander. In addition, he will make sure the LC staff is fully trained and certified in order to execute its mission as a Land Component Command HQ for MJO/MJO+ Operations.

Major General Uzun has a multinational background: he served as Chief of Operations Section at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Land Planning Officer at Plans Section of SHAPE Plans and Principles Directorate, and was deployed as Commander of Kabul Regional Command in 2013.
