8th LANDCOM Corps Commanders Conference Wraps Up In İzmir

IZMIR, Turkey - NATO’s Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) held its 8th Corps Commanders’ Conference at its Headquarters in Izmir from 9-11 May, in anticipation of the upcoming Warsaw Summit.

The conference brought together senior leaders of the NATO Force and Command structures in order to develop a common shared visualisation of the role of land forces in NATO and discuss challenges currently facing the Alliance.

"It has been a privilege to host this LANDCOM Corps Commanders’ Conference,” said LANDCOM’s Deputy Commander / Acting Commander Lieutenant General Paolo Ruggiero.

"It has resulted in great discussion by the corps commanders of NATO’s land domain, the DSACEUR and guest speakers from NATO Headquarters on what we can expect coming out of the Warsaw Summit and the impact it will have on NATO’s land domain particularly in the areas of enhanced readiness and how we can work together in the current threat environment,” Ruggiero added.

Seventy-five military personnel throughout the Alliance, including Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, the Deputy Commander of Joint Forces Command, Brunssum, representatives from Allied Air Command, Allied Maritime Command, Joint Forces Command Naples, the Joint Warfighter Center, the Joint Forces Training Center, United States Army Europe, Multinational Joint Headquarters Ulm, the South-Eastern Europe Brigade and the Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre took part in the 2-day conference. Two guest speakers from NATO Headquarters, Mr. Jonathan Parish and Mr. Diego Ruiz-Palmer.
