University Day at LANDCOM

28 May 2015 was the University Day in LANDCOM. LANDCOM hosted students and professors from the Political Science and International Relations Departments of İzmir Universities. 23 professors, lecturers and research assistants as well as 162 PhD, MA and undergraduate students from Aegean, Dokuz Eylul, Katip Celebi, İzmir, Gediz, Yasar and İzmir University of Economics participated in the event. The University Day began with COM LANDCOM, LTG John Nicholson’s remarks. First session was spared for briefings. LANDCOM Introduction briefing was presented by G3 ACOS Col Falconer. The other two briefings were " From Wales Summit to Warsaw Summit - A Political Overview” by Ms. Heidi Meyer (POLAD) and "Comprehensive Approach and the Importance Partnership” by Mr. Mehmet Aykut (G9). A panel discussion was held in the second session. Six panelists ( Ms. Binali (G9), CPT Da Gama (G5), Mr. Voyger (G2), MAJ Verbanck (G3) , COL Falconer (G3 ACOS), LTC Larsen (StratcomAD)) answered questions from students and professors around the overarching theme "NATO and the New Ways of Preventing Conflict: Countering the Hybrid Threat”. Panel was moderated by Ms. Meyer.
