RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany - Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Philip Breedlove attended the Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) Corps Commanders' Conference hosted at Ramstein Air Base, Germany on Tuesday, 10 March 2015.
Breedlove joined LANDCOM Commander Lieutenant General John Nicholson and the commanders of nine Army Corps Headquarters from all over Europe to discuss how the Alliance will move forward on contingency planning in support of NATO's readiness reaction forces.
More than 140 conference participants, led by Lieutenant General Nicholson, had this and other land-specific topics on the agenda for the two-day conference.
General Frank Gorenc, Commander of Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) offered his headquarters at Ramstein Air Base as the venue of this annual Land Conference.
"Just take a look at NATO operations in Afghanistan - the Alliance developed a tremendous capability to integrate our air and land operations on the battlefield," said General Gorenc. "That kind of capability requires experts in both the air and land domains who are motivated to work towards a common mission. I am glad to see both groups in today's conference and I am especially optimistic on the future of air-land-integration."
