Members of LANDCOM took part in an Operational Planning Process training event in Armenia

Members of Allied Land Command took part in an Operational Planning Process training event in Yerevan, Armenia from 16-20 March 2015.  As part of SHAPE’s outreach with the Partnership for Peace Program, members from LANDCOM’s G5 and G9 presented a week long instruction to roughly 20 Officers and Non Commissioned Officers of the Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade on the combined efforts of NATO’s planning process.

Throughout the event, Armenian service members participated in both classroom and hands on training, collaborating with both instructors and peers with an overall focus on the NATO planning process.  Although the intent was highlighted on the doctrinal terms and processes, students engaged regularly and shared their real world experiences, a true testament to their unit that has multiple deployments over the years that include Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Allied Land Command continues to strive to implement the "Connected Forces Initiative” through their Mobile Training Teams and hosted Workshops.  In the near future, from 13-18 September 2015, an Armenian Infantry Battalion will conduct a NATO Level 2 Combat Readiness Evaluation (CREVAL) that will determine combat effectiveness and interoperability of NATO standards.  Allied Land Command looks forward to supporting this event as well as other future training opportunities with Armenian Forces.
