General Officer Steering Committee held in Izmir

LANDCOM, in close coordination with USAREUR, hosted the second overall Combined Training Conference (CTC) General Officer Steering Committee (GOSC) for the first time in Izmir, Turkey from September 7-9 2015. This important training steering committee brought together 21 General Officers and 37 other Staff Personnel from 16 NATO Command and Force Structure Headquarters and 11 National Headquarters, with 14 NATO national flags represented.

Over the course of two days, this group of leaders discussed their perspectives on ongoing and future training efforts, shared exercises calendars, decisive exercises, the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) and NATO Force Integration Units (NIFU) timings, Assurance Measures, and the way ahead for the Combined Training Conference (CTC) 15-02, to be held in November in NATO School Oberammergau.

This very productive steering committee created a much better understanding across the multiple Alliance Headquarters and Framework Nations in the land domain of the efforts ongoing in training and exercises and set the conditions for another successful CTC.
