American University of Rome visited LANDCOM


The American University of Rome visited Allied Land Command, January 16. The AUR group included 10 students and 2 professors. The group was briefed the historical background of LANDCOM during a quick tour.  LANDCOM personnel, AUR students and professors were welcomed by the Chief of Staff, Major General Ugur Tarcin, followed by Lt. Col. Jonathan Delahay (UK) on the mission and LANDCOM’s role in Turkey. During the briefing, the students had the chance to ask questions.

Second half of the session was followed by Lt. Col.  Mehmet Aykut, Civil-Military Cooperation Division. He informed the students on the cooperation between NATO and civil organizations, as well as Turkey as LANDCOM’s host nation. Heidi Meyer, LANDCOM Political Advisor, and Didem Uyar, LANDCOM International Affairs Assistant explained NATO’s comprehensive approach to the visiting students.
