Major General Erhan Uzun
Major General Erhan Uzun was born in Erzincan in 1964. He graduated from the Turkish Military Academy in 1985 and from the Service School in 1986 as an Artillery Lieutenant.
He served as Battery Officer and Battery Commander in the 1st Armoured Brigade, 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 28th Armoured Regiment and Mountain and Commando Commands and served as an Inspection Officer in the General Plans and Policies Department of the Turkish General Staff between 1986-1998.
In 1998 he attended the Army War College and upon graduation as a Staff Officer, he was assigned to the 95th Armoured Brigade Command as the Chief of Operations and Training Branch.
He fulfilled the task of Deputy Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina for 7 months in 2001.
Between 2002-2003, he completed his education and training at the Strategic Level Army War College in the United States of America.
He served as Battalion Commander in the 102nd Artillery Regiment Command in 2003-2005, and then he was appointed as Chief of Section in the Operations Department of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium between 2005-2008.
Following his duty as Deputy Commander of the 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade between 2008-2009, he served as Chief of Operations Branch in Land Forces Operations Department between 2009-2011.
Promoted to Brigadier General in 2011, he served as the Chief of Planning and Operations Department (Ankara) of Land Forces between 2011-2013, as Commander of Kabul Regional Command between 2013-2014 and as Commander of the 11th Motorized Infantry Brigade between 2014-2015.
Promoted in 2015 to the rank of Major General by the Supreme Military Council Decisions, he was appointed as the Commander of Security Forces located in Cyprus Island by the Turkish General Staff.
Major General Uzun took up his position as LANDCOM Chief of Staff in August 2016.
Major General Erhan Uzun is married and has two children.
